Heather is a 2008 graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, and an active member of both the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of British Columbia and the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. Her passion has always been holistic health and alternative medicines. Heather knows that with the use of accurate assessment and an educated treatment plan, Massage Therapy is a very effective approach in improving quality of life from sufferers of many ailments. Massage Therapy is not only used for stress management and relaxation; however, various conditions including but not limited to: fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, migraines, chronic/acute low back pain, sprains/strains, and whiplash and they can all be treated through accurate assessment and a customized treatment plan. Heather is also passionate to utilize massage as a remarkable therapy for general wellness and preventative health. Pre and post-natal treatments are a common request and one that she takes a special interest to.
Techniques used for treatment are specific to the presenting complaint but could include: Swedish techniques, deep tissue massage, myofascial techniques, passive and active range of motion exercises, hydrotherapy, trigger point release therapy, sports therapy, pregnancy massage and many more.
Heather stays up-to-date in the current practice of Massage therapy and its ever-changing models for treatment by actively researching and participating in professional development.
Outside of work, she can usually be found outdoors playing baseball, hiking, or jogging, or spending quality time with her husband and their young daughters.
